Overview

Each Community is created by a BensonsLife member, who in effect, becomes the moderator for that particular Community. Here are some options when creating a Community:

Access

Communities can be created as public (come one, come all) or private (invite-only). It is up to the creator / moderator to decide. Requests to join a private Community are sent to the moderator for approval.

Members

Moderators can add, remove and block members at any time.

Permissions

Moderators may allow members to contribute to the Community space: create events, add and comment on discussion topics, and/or add pictures. Or, they can disable community contributions, which prevents community members from adding new content.

Families

Create a private community in a group setting to stay connected and share with your extended family and friends. No strangers allowed.

Calendar

• Share birthdays, social activities, parties, weddings, holidays, events and other plans
• Create event invitations, select guests to invite and track RSVPs all in one place
• Reminders automatically sent to guest list the day before event

Discussion Boards

• Public or private forum for family announcements, discussions, news/updates and storytelling

• Share photos from a family get-togethers, birthday parties, holidays, events, games, concerts or activities

• Receive email and/or BensonsLife alerts when someone in your Circle posts something new or when there is activity in one of your groups

Educators

Schools, classrooms and parents

The group moderator can enable or disable any of the group features. For example, if you don’t want parents adding to the calendar, you can lock this feature so only you can add to the calendar. You can also regulate your members, adding or removing parents when a new student is added or one moves away.
